Best jacket to survive winter in style

Winter gets me excited about the holidays, spending more time with my family and friends, trips to the mountains but not the style. Winter coat is a staple in any wardrobe, and this year it was very hard to choose THE ONE. Winters in Colorado are very unpredictable. It can get up to 80 degrees during the day and drop to 30’s in the evening. So I found for myself that the most appropriate jacket for this kind of weather is parka. In my case wade of waterproof coated material with fur trimmed hood by SAM New York.  (similar here, here and here

I like that it's long and covers my thighs and bum when I sit down on a cold surface or if I’m going to be doing a lot of walking outside in the cold, plus it looks great with dresses.

During the day, I wear it unzipped over a summer dress yet it still gives me warmth at night. Even if you live in warmer places, it most likely rains in the winter. Parka protects you from rain and wind, still is very stylish. I paired mine with timberlands and baby doll summer dress for more playful look. A lot of parkas come with removable hood and lining for warmer days.
